About Sabrina and her Blog
- When did you start blogging and why?
I started blogging as a creative outlet when my husband and I were living in Maui. I was unemployed for 6 months (I had a lot of time on my hands) and I have always had a love for fashion. My friends kept asking me, “where did you get your clothes?” and so it was a way to document what I was wearing while also giving me a creative outlet.
My main drive is to be able to provide a resource for people looking for advice on fashion, marriage, motherhood, and psoriasis (see below).
- What topics does your blog cover?
I cover everything from fashion, marriage, and motherhood. I also offer tips and advice on living with psoriasis and how to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle with managing a chronic disease like psoriasis. I like to share my fashion finds and let people know that looking good doesn’t have to cost an arm and a left.
I also want to make sure I’m displaying the good, the bad and the ugly. Sometimes you only see the good. And motherhood, pregnancy, working a full-time job, raising a child and trying to balance a happy marriage isn’t all confetti and sprinkles. So just making sure I’m being as real as my life is!
- What are your 3 favourite things about blogging?
Being able to connect with people I most likely would never meet in person.
I want to be able to provide the resources I wish was out there when I first became pregnant, when I was first diagnosed with psoriasis and basically how to live a balanced and happy life.
Writing about motherhood and how it changes on a day to day basis. I know I’m not the only person going through this, so being able to provide tips and advice for others going through the same thing.
- What would your favourite day look like?
Snuggles with my son and soon-to-be-son (I’m due in September!)
Family breakfast (I always have to eat breakfast!)
Me time: blogging, social media for my blog
Outside time – I always need to do something outside: walk the dog, take my son to the playground, run, etc.
Family meal time – always a must! Trying any new restaurant in the city!
- What’s your all-time favourite quote?
“Someday, everything will make perfect sense. So for now, laugh at the confusion, smile through the tears, and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for a reason.” – Anonymous
About Sabrina’s Lifestyle
- What are your 3 best tips for someone who wants to lead a healthy lifestyle?
Start small & celebrate every little success. If your goal is to exercise more, start by saying today I’m going to walk around the block. If you didn’t have the cupcake at work, celebrate that. Every little success deserves a celebration!
Find a support group. Make sure to have a support group or accountability partner. It will help you stay on track with your goals and you’ll have someone to lean on when you need that extra push and motivation!
Have a cheat/rest day. If you deprive yourself of something, your body is going to want it. And there is nothing wrong with a cheat or rest day. If dark chocolate is your jam, then indulge in the best damn dark chocolate there is. If lounging in your PJ’s for a few hours in the morning is up your alley, then do it. A little TLC and R&R is just what the doctor ordered.
- What are the songs that summarize your lifestyle?
Forever Young, Bob Dylan
Live Like You Were Dying, Clay Walker
These 2 best summarize my lifestyle.
- What’s your favourite outfit for each season?
While I’m pregnant: I’m loving this maternity dress and maternity shirt and jean shorts combo
- What are 3 essential items you have to have in your handbag when you leave the house?
A snack (I get hangry!) and this is for my little one too!
- What’s your morning routine?
Morning meditation (I love the Headspace app!)
Catch up on social media
Breakfast with my little one (the husband is not a morning person)
Get dressed for my full-time job
Drop off my little one at day care
Make my 1 hr commute to work
