Roaming Around Rome – A Photo Diary

rome piazza navona

I've visited Rome twice in my life, once as a kid with my parents, and another time in 2014, with my ex-boyfriend. I dug out my photos to share them with you!:) I think Rome is a beautiful city with a rich history and lots of lovely architecture.

Rome is the city of echoes, the city of illusions, and the city of yearning.

Some tips for visiting Rome:

  • Check online for free entry days to attractions. Like many major cities now, there's usually one day a week where a selected attraction is free to visit! That's how we got into the Colosseum for free, completely coincidentally!!
  • Have rectangular slices of pizza from kiosques, those are the most authentic. The sit-down round ones are usually a lot more expensive and geared towards tourists!
  • Go to Giolitti for ice cream, it's the best.

My favourite attraction was definitely the Vatican! I love the classic art in the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican gardens (of which I sadly didn't take any pictures...). And the museums were huge!

I tried, but I didn’t have an amazing camera at the time so I didn’t get any good night shots! Did you enjoy Rome?

I love Rome, the best thing that I personally in this city is that, there are tons of churches/Basilicas and its free not like other European cities. I have visited like a lot everytime we pass by in any corner you can find churches and the interior part is just amazing! Love your photos by the way.

Did you do as the Romans do? 😉

If ever I’ll be in Rome (and on every heavily touristed cities), I’d like to take photos of the HUGE crowd on every tourist spots. It would be fun, definitely!

When in Rome!? haha it wasn’t actually that crowded when I went, only at the colosseum! And you can definitely see crowds in those photos! Why you would want photos of sweaty tourists though I can only wonder?
