I've visited Rome twice in my life, once as a kid with my parents, and another time in 2014, with my ex-boyfriend. I dug out my photos to share them with you!:) I think Rome is a beautiful city with a rich history and lots of lovely architecture.
Rome is the city of echoes, the city of illusions, and the city of yearning.
Some tips for visiting Rome:
- Check online for free entry days to attractions. Like many major cities now, there's usually one day a week where a selected attraction is free to visit! That's how we got into the Colosseum for free, completely coincidentally!!
- Have rectangular slices of pizza from kiosques, those are the most authentic. The sit-down round ones are usually a lot more expensive and geared towards tourists!
- Go to Giolitti for ice cream, it's the best.
Here's my photo diary, enjoy!
Villa d'Este Gardens
St. Peter's Basilica
My favourite attraction was definitely the Vatican! I love the classic art in the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican gardens (of which I sadly didn't take any pictures...). And the museums were huge!
