I love writing and do offer travel writing services, social media management as well as coaching for bloggers. If you're a newbie and want some help drop me a line to see how I can help you. Also if you're looking for a writer for your site let me know what you require:

  • What advice would you give someone who may want to start a blog?
  1. My advice would be to go for it, but do some planning and research first, especially if you plan to earn income from it or work with brands and blog professionally.
  2. Think our what you want to blog about, ensure it's a topic you are passionate about and research online as much as you can before you start.
  3. Join some Facebook groups to ask questions and see what others are doing to get some inspiration.
  4. Watch youtube videos, read, learn the various blog and media terms and what they mean.
  5. Write some articles ready to post when you have your site.
  6. Write a plan of how you will launch your blog from start to posting your first post.
  • What is the thing that you have achieved in your life that you're the proudest of?

My greatest achievements I'd say is travelling to 40 countries so far and also my educational career, I have several degrees in the medical and nursing field of Psychiatry and I currently manage 3 hospitals, I have worked in this field for 18 years and have taught many students who've since have gone on to have their own successful careers this is very rewarding to see and what I class to be a great achievement.

About Travel

  • Why do you travel?

I travel for many reasons. I love exploring (especially old ancient sites like temples and historical buildings) I love the history behind places I love photographing these places. I also travel to relax and chill out, tropical secluded beach islands with rainforests and jungles with wildlife, somewhere you can feel lost and isolated.

I am not a fan of packed and crowded beaches no matter how beautiful that beach may be, I like to find my own piece of paradise. I love food and travelling allows me to taste and experience delicious foods from around the world, I usually try and take some sort of cooking class or at least learn about the dishes along the way. Best of all I love meeting people and making new friends along the way.

  • What destinations are on your travel bucket list and why?

I have a bucket list 10 miles long lol, here are a few places on my list and why.

Costa Rica

Known for its beaches, wildlife, volcanoes, jungles this is a perfect destination for me to explore, this country is very eco-friendly something I would like to experience more of.

French Polynesian Islands

I love tropical fairway islands and the islands in French Polynesia looks stunning, I enjoy snorkelling and diving and I've heard and read the waters here are perfect to do that.

French Polynesia has more than 100 islands in the South Pacific, stretching for more than 2,000 km.

From the photographs I have seen of the beaches, landscapes and wildlife I am itching to go. I have read a lot of history one Madagascar and it was fascinating. Here are a few reasons why:

  1. I want to explore the rainforests and jungles
  2. They have lemurs
  3. The beaches look out of this world
  4. There are loads of historical sites to explore
  5. They have an amazing place called “Avenue of the Baobabs", a dirt road lined by massive centuries-old trees.
  6. It looks like a photographers dream.

The Philippines is one my bucket list as it has over 7000 islands the landscapes and secluded islands look a gem to see. There are many historical sites here I would like to check out.

Another tropical paradise with amazing reefs, caves, beaches, jungles, and Mayan ruins. I cannot wait to visit this place.

  • What's the funniest thing that's ever happened to you while you were traveling?

I have so many funny things happen to me here is one of my favourites. In my early days of travelling to Thailand about 18 - 19 years ago I was rushing from Bangkok to get a flight to Koh Samui - as there is a mainland in Thailand with the Same District name (Surat Thani) I booked a flight to Surat Thani instead of Koh Samui as I thought Surat Thani was just the airline using a different name for Koh Samui. I did not realise till the flight was about to land, when I looked out the window and saw no sea lol, and realised my mistake. I still managed to get to Koh Samui that day via a taxi and a boat but it added 6 hours onto my trip, but the good thing was, I saw a lot of the main land of Thailand en route, so a bad mistake was turned into a positive.

  • What are the 5 things you HAVE to bring with you on a trip?

Love this question, as I am a traveler that travels with a lot of stuff lol, no matter what I do I just end up taking loads, mainly because most of my travels are always a month or longer, I am not a fan of short trips, although I do a lot of short trips I just feel too rushed.

My 5 essential things I have to bring with me are:

  1. Phone (has all my travel apps and travel notes)
  2. Cameras + Lenses (absolute must to snap my travel adventures and interesting things along the way)
  3. Shawl / Scarf (which can be used to keep warm or as a pillow or as a cover up when visiting temples etc)
  4. Hand Sanitiser
  5. Sunscreen (I mean who needs wrinkles in their life lol)
  • What 3 things has traveling taught you?

Travelling never stops teaching me things. I love this question and could write a separate post just on this. Here is a short summary.

Compromise + Adapting + Positivity + Stepping Out Your Comfort Zones

To adapt and to try and see the best in places you visit. I have travelled to so many places that did not really live up to my expectations, but rather than think negatively I always try to find positive aspects of the places and each experience.

Having a positive attitude is important when travelling, each place is a new experience, and it is important try and adapt to where you are and what you are faced with.

I used to love only luxury travel, but over the years realised experience is better than luxury and since then have visited so many off the beaten track places that were fantastic.

Understanding +  Learning + Developing Knowledge

Travelling has given me the opportunity to lean so much, from history, all about cultures, traditions, religions, cooking skills, languages the list goes on. Travel allows you to gain an understanding of how people live, in different parts of the world, which I find so intriguing. My background is psychiatry and involves working with people so I am really interested in understanding about people and their cultures and life.

Creativity + Patience + Relaxation

Travel has taught me to be patient to take time with things, to see, to discover and to understand and experience. To relax and enjoy places I am visiting to get a feel and taste of the country, the pace of life their rituals their customs the food. I love to travel slowly and absorb all these things but also having chill out time and to be able to relax.

I can be very impatient and visiting other countries has shown me how other ways of life where things can still get done, but at a slower more healthy pace. The best thing travel has brought out in me is creatively, everything about travel has helped towards making me creative from writing, cooking, learning languages, painting, photography, filming and making travel videos, and art, this, in turn, gives me so many ideas on creative things to do. I have started so many artistic projects all inspired from my travels.
